Do you know the value of your precious items?
Most Stately Homes have hidden artefacts, heirloom pieces and items that have just always been around and are part of their history.
If you had to replace an item through damage or theft, would you be in a position to quote a valuation to your insurers? Over the years we have been called to many clients to look at a collection of what may be deemed bits and pieces, only to discover the item is a highly valuable asset – that has previously gone unrecognised.
For example – a tired dented wine vessel that had been pushed at the back of cupboards in one of particular customers homes, turned out to be a solid gold treasure with a replacement value of £80,000. Another customer thought that the trinket box treasured by his long lost mother, was only encrusted with glass crystals. On our inspection, these turned out to be diamonds – valued at £20,000!
Hayes & Finch offer a full asset listing and valuation service on all or part of your precious items. We will visit your residence, photograph and record the details of the pieces you wish to be valued.
The information is then collated and presented to you in a bound record book featuring photographic evidence of each item, supported with a description and valuation. Additional details regarding the history of the pieces listed, or stories of how they came to be in the residents possession can also be recorded making the book not only an official document for insurance purposes but a keepsake and record book forming part of it’s history.
